Usually tourists make a souvenir photo in front of a monument, a statue … read the date and the name of who is represented … It amuses me to get inside, climb up when it is possible…. I did it in New York in the Statue of Liberty, in Paris for Eiffel Tower but never in Italy! My first time was in Arona on the statue of San Carlo Borromeo inaugurated in 1698. This copper statue represents the archbishop (in Milan) Borromeo much loved and famous for his spirituality, he was born in Arona. The monument is of 3188 (of which 23.50 m the statue). It was a wonderful and unique experience that we can go inside, climb up to the head: see Arona through the eyes of S. Carlo Borromeo. The route is safe even for children there is the possibility on request for use of the helmet, we climb and descend from the same scale. An experience to share with your family and / or friends! To avoid for those who suffer from vertigo … The view is spectacular!
