5 August 1962, 50 years ago died Marlyn Monroe. One of the famous stars of Hollywood fade away! I am not a big fan even if years ago when I was a teenager I had her poster on my room’s wall. When I was going from Milan to Dubai with Emirates flight on Marsh I watched the film : “One week with Marilyn”: a diary, trying not be influenced by the well known steryotypes of her life.
As a woman, as a psychologist I felt sadness for her fragile character. She is a missed mother, a desired wife, an ispiring icon for a lot of girls, a depressed soul…a golden goose for businessmen.
For more than decades she captivated audiences through a multitude of comedic and dramatic roles.
Her style has been imitated for generations, I really love her dresses! She is not “la donna grissino” (too much slim) she had the classical ” venus body shape”: as the one of the perfect woman.
Her platine hair, her make up, her smile, her perfume (Chanel 5) has become the most copied tips to create the Maryline Monroe perfect look!
Salvatore Ferragamo, dedicated a show for Marylin Monroe style: presenting her shoes “14 pairs” created for her, you can discover this and more in a wonderful exhibition from 20 june 2012 to January 2013 at Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florance.
This is how I think she must be reminded: “a smily normal girl”
